I'm so happy you jumped in. Posting as you write is for the readers like standing behind a window watching people in a lab working, restoring an old masters painting or cleaning dinosaur bones. See it as it happens. It's courageous of you, and a benefit to all who read, to see a work in progrsss.
Would you believe this morning I felt like the weight of the world was pressing down on me and then I began playing with a sentence and as I wrote and moved words around, my happiness increased.
I used to work with this ker-azy Southern Black OG on a South Bronx beer truck in the 70’s. His name was Plumber Hunt and he used to say, “Ain’t nothin’ to it but to do it.”
Very excited for this. Also, I really appreciate your openness and willingness to share the tougher parts of your writing process and its reception. It feels like such a hopeful exercise in empathy. It’s heartening and affirming, especially coming from such a gifted writer.
Super excited for this! Serialized fiction is such a beautiful, messy thing. I’m very interested to see how you tackle it in the fantasy space (especially since I just started posting a silly fantasy YA here myself). Going to be extremely cool watching you build something like this from the ground up.
Yes yes yes yes YES! We are fortunate to be part of your experiment, in on it from the ground floor. THANK YOU for sharing this with the Substack community!
I don't need to tell you how excited I am, beyooond. x
lets see how it goes, n.

An article in The Guardian today describes the way we become happier when we're doing something that induces Flow and the things to avoid.
